On Sunday, Dec. 4 we held our Groundbreaking Ceremony at Christ Fellowship.
We love that we are one church, two languages and our ceremony represented that as our English and Spanish congregations united together in one room to sing in our heart languages, melding voices and languages into a beautiful song of celebration!
The mud from the rains kept the ceremony indoors where children clad in yellow, plastic construction hats filled the room. Families came forward together and planted orange construction flags in a bed of dirt and then picked up a small jar of their own dirt to take home as a keepsake.
When the ground outside had dried a few days later, our staff enjoyed placing the flags around the perimeter of the new building.
The ceremony was a sweet moment for us – breaking ground on a 41,600-square-foot children’s building renovation and expansion that will provide a dedicated, secure place for our kids complete with a slide from the top floor to the bottom, and a 10,000-square-foot worship center that will house our growing Spanish service on Sundays and student ministries on Wednesdays.
We were honored to have some of our local dignitaries and partners in this project join us as our senior pastor, Spanish pastor and elders led us in the celebration!
