What’s Behind the Wall?

Adam Rushlow gives us a sneak peek at what’s behind the wall in our children’s ministry area. Check out this fun behind-the-scenes look at some of the construction!

Steel Signing

This was a very special day in our Make Room project. We signed the steel beams that will connect the existing space with the new Worship Center East. Take a look 🙂

An Exciting Inconvenience

We’ve been watching dirt move outside for weeks now. But now we’re bringing the construction zone indoors!

Beginning June 4, our south hallway in Children’s Ministry will be closed off and our indoor renovations will begin. We’ll be moving some kids to other classrooms, but what an exciting inconvenience knowing that we’ll have an amazing space for kids to come when all of this is completed!

Dirt is moving – a progress update!

Jon impresses us with his construction knowledge he gleaned at A&M … not!

Seriously – we love seeing all the dirt moving and holes being dug. Tune in and see what’s happening now and our hopeful timeline of our new spaces.

It’s getting messy ’round here!

Jon walks us through some construction “ground rules.” He’s pretty quick – hope you don’t miss what he has to say.

Materials, Swatches and Carpet. Oh My!

Adam Rushlow, our new Creative Media Pastor, leads us in a pledge, “I do solemnly swear … that I will not … ” Well, we’ll let you watch for yourself!

We’ve been busy picking out materials, swatches and carpet … it’s getting real. Are you ready for us to start making room?

We Broke Ground!

On Sunday, Dec. 4 we held our Groundbreaking Ceremony at Christ Fellowship.

We love that we are one church, two languages and our ceremony represented that as our English and Spanish congregations united together in one room to sing in our heart languages, melding voices and languages into a beautiful song of celebration!

The mud from the rains kept the ceremony indoors where children clad in yellow, plastic construction hats filled the room. Families came forward together and planted orange construction flags in a bed of dirt and then picked up a small jar of their own dirt to take home as a keepsake.

When the ground outside had dried a few days later, our staff enjoyed placing the flags around the perimeter of the new building.

The ceremony was a sweet moment for us – breaking ground on a 41,600-square-foot children’s building renovation and expansion that will provide a dedicated, secure place for our kids complete with a slide from the top floor to the bottom, and a 10,000-square-foot worship center that will house our growing Spanish service on Sundays and student ministries on Wednesdays.

We were honored to have some of our local dignitaries and partners in this project join us as our senior pastor, Spanish pastor and elders led us in the celebration!

We have so much to celebrate and much to look forward to. These are exciting times at Christ Fellowship!

Make Room July Update

Make Room is our building initiative to make room for more children, students and Spanish-speakers that are coming to Christ Fellowship.

We recently kicked off an extension to the Make Room initiative and exceeded our goal for pledges! The church pledged an additional $2.3M! So the entire make room campaign pledges together with the land sale, totals to more than $8.5 Million!

You have been giving generously. Together with the land sale, you have given
$4,191,538. Please remain faithful in giving — it will take all of us doing our part!

Make Room UpdateWhere are we in the Process?

We are in the final weeks of Design Development — beginning to make selections on finishes and flooring. During this phase alone, our 12 partners and the building team have put in an estimated 10,000 man-hours of work in to the design, coordination, and pricing of the plans!

What’s Next?

Our General Contractor will provide a cost estimate based on Design Development. Then, Construction Documentation, which is the last architectural phase prior to permitting and going out to bid, will begin in August.

Pray that the process will go smoothly and efficiently, and that God will guide us through the hundreds of decisions to be made over the coming weeks.

If you are new to Christ Fellowship or wondering what Make Room is all about — take a look. It’s not too late to make an investment that will impact people for Christ for years to come.
